Ringgit opens higher against the US dollar

KUALA LUMPUR: The ringgit opened higher against the US dollar today on enhanced interest for the cash, a merchant said. 

At 9 am, the neighborhood unit was exchanged at 4.4440/4480 against the US dollar from 4.4470/4510 on Wednesday. 

A merchant said there was a mellow purchasing support for the ringgit taking after a withdraw in the greenback, after brokers took benefits from the place of refuge money. 

"The US dollar went down, notwithstanding a powerful financial information discharged in the US, combined with President Donald Trump's declaration on corporate tax reductions," the merchant said. 

He likewise said the market anticipated that Bank Negara would report a positive arrangement of Gross Domestic Product development information for 2016 and for the last quarter of a year ago. 

Against a wicker container of real monetary standards, the ringgit was exchanged lower. 

It fell against the Singapore dollar to 3.1318/1350 from 3.1240/1288 and versus the yen, it diminished to 3.8982/9031 from 3.8842/8884. 

Versus the British pound, the ringgit debilitated to 5.5372/5444 from 5.5223/5281 and contrasted and the euro, it deteriorated to 4.7191/7242 from 4.6943/6989 on Wednesday. - Bernama
