Ringgit opens at 3.99 against USD

KUALA LUMPUR: The ringgit extended yesterday's upward force to open firmer against the US dollar in early exchange today on tenacious purchasing enthusiasm for the nearby note. 

At 9.02 am, the nearby unit was cited at 3.9940/9990 against the greenback from Monday's end of 4.0050/0100. 

Forex Time Vice President of Corporate Development and Market Research Jameel Ahmad said the uptrend was additionally bolstered by an overnight increment in unrefined petroleum costs. 

The cost of the benchmark Brent Crude was at US$48.33 per barrel, up US$1.37 or 2.92 for each penny. 

"The rally in the cost of oil over the past two sessions would have profited any money that is reliant on fare of the ware as a method for total national output. 

"The dollar likewise dropped against a wicker container of monetary forms taking after a suddenly powerless US retail deals report," he said in an announcement.

The ringgit fortified against the British pound to 5.1459/1555 from Monday's 5.1693/1781 and ascended against the euro to 4.4657/4721 from 4.4712/4784.
